Uniting

The Tourist Office, the ski area, the town council and shopkeepers  have joined forces to speak with one voice.

Responsible thinking is only possible if all the parts of our resort are on the same wavelength. We are lucky in les Arcs to have this collective awareness. Now we must work on and expand our actions on a regional scale.

Keeping you informed

Since 2017, we have been creating video content aimed at skiers and walkers to make them aware of their ecological footprint. These campaigns are always run with humour and are very well received. To see them: mettre les vidéos en ligne du panda…

To be continued, for the 2019/2020 season, the ski area is rolling out new signs to make visitors, both skiers and walkers, aware of their responsibilities.  We are adding new ashtrays on the slopes. We know that cigarette ends are a real scourge. As a reminder, it takes 2 years for a cigarette end to rot away completely.

Getting involved

Since 2018, we have been running our « Big Clean-up » operation to pick up rubbish in the ski area and in our resort. Every year, we welcome more than 200 participants. It’s a friendly occasion when we are able to raise awareness amongst the youngest and sort more than 650kg of rubbish. We are hoping to pick up less next time in 2020!

Building alliances which make sense

We have been in partnership with the Picture Organic Clothing brand since 2018. Part of this outdoor clothing brand’s DNA is the desire to do better particularly by using recycled materials while offering its products at an affordable price. This business culture can be seen in all the brand’s choices from the traceability of their products, to the packaging and choice of materials. A brand which promises to tackle climate change by offering an alternative way of consuming and taking part in sports.

Jean Lain Automobiles and Volkswagen have been supporting us for 6 years. We are proud to be associated with a family business which has strong roots in Savoie and the neighbouring departments. It is a quick-reacting business which has already enabled us to test electric vehicles in our resort. There are more great joint projects to come from our brands …

As for Salomon, they are offering «the Play Minded Programme», which highlights the brand’s action plan from now until 2025 and the players they are going to be working with. Another great story to tell about this ski industry brand.
