The Great British Celebration, what’s that?

Les Arcs event aimed at putting the spotlight on British culture! During the 4 days of festivities, the whole resort of les Arcs, from the station in Bourg-Saint-Maurice to the top of the Aiguille Rouge, will be decorated in the colors of the British flag.
The event has just one motto: fun, partying and skiing!

On the program :

Monday 26 march
Arc 2000 - Place Olympique

From 6pm to 7.30pm : « Le Crunch » : Football tournament
Mulled wine and hot chocolate followed by fireworks.
Sign up at the Arc 2000 Tourist Office between 9 am and 5 pm (>18 years).


Tuesday 27 march
Arc 2000 - Ski area - near the Bulle Café

10am to 4pm :Downhill ski competition


Wednesday 28 march
Arc 1600 - Snowpark

2.30pm : Meeting and picture signing with Jenny Jones, the first Briton to win an Olympic medal in a snowboard.

Arc 1950 - Clock tower square

From 5pm : Tea-time with cakes tasting on a giant plate for nearly 500 persons.
Dj Party with Fred Metral.

 


Thursday 29 march
Arc 1800 - Mille8 area

From 4.30pm to 6pm : Sledging competition with prize-giving

From 6pm to 7.30pm : "Black of the Wall" Concert - Villards village, Place Haute

The Great British Celebration, what’s that?

It’s a brand new made in Les Arcs event aimed at putting the spotlight on British culture! During the 4 days of festivities, the whole resort of les Arcs, from the station in Bourg-Saint-Maurice to the top of the Aiguille Rouge, will be decorated in the colours of the British flag.
The event has just one motto: fun, partying and skiing!

 

On the programme :

Lundi 27 mars
Arc 2000 Ice skating rink - 6 to 7.30pm

« The Crunch » : a crunch bubble foot tournament at the new ice rink in Arc 2000 with mulled wine and hot chocolate on offer.
Sign up à the Arc 2000 Tourist Office between 9am and 5 pm (>18 years).


Mardi 28 mars
Arc 1600 Cachette competition area - 10.30am

Alpine skiing competition on the Cachette competition course.
Sign up à the Arc 1600 Tourist Office before Monday 10am.


Mercredi 29 mars
Arc 1950 - Le Village

From 3.00 p.m., onwards in the Place de l’Horloge : The « Robin Hood Tournament », a contest between 2 teams of a maximum of 6 players armed with bows and arrows with foam balls instead of points. The object: to bring the flag back to base by eliminating your adversaries one by one using the arrows. Each team hit will be eliminated!
*Entries, from the age of 7, in the Tourist Office Chalet in ARC 1950 from midday on Saturday 25/03 to midday on Wednesday 29/3

Prize-giving scheduled for 5.30 p.m. in the Place de l’Horloge

From 6.00 p.m., onwards in the Place de l’Horloge: British Family Party with DJ Fred Metral, A Dance Floor on the snow for all the family with mulled wine, hot chocolate, and toasted marshmallows round the fire-pit. The Village’s pubs and bars will be taking part in Après-Ski events.


 Jeudi 30 mars
Arc 1800 Mille8 area - 5pm to 6.15pm

toboggan competition at Mille8 with prize-giving,
Cheese & Wine,
"Trio Pop" Concert - Villards village, Place Haute from 6.30 to 7.30pm
