Où skier quand il ne fait pas beau ?

Today there is a whiteout, but don’t worry about it, you won’t miss out on going out on the pistes.

Before setting off, we recommend that you look at what lifts are open to make sure that the whole ski area is open.

To ensure better visibility, we advise you to wear goggles or a suitable pair of glasses, which is to say with category 1 lenses. They are nearly clear and absorb between 20 and 57 % of the visible light.

Some slopes have the benefit of being in a wooded part of the ski area with a lot of pine trees, so you will be sheltered from bad weather and will be able to see the piste easily.

Setting  off from Arc 1800, take the Charmettoger chairlift. Head for the Plan Bois piste and pass through the pretty Vallandry forest. The Myrtylle piste will remind gourmets of the good tartlets you enjoyed last summer, but don’t look for them. You’ll have to come back in a few months if you want to pick the sweet berries.

Once in Vallandry, take the Grizzly chairlift of the same name and ski down the Forêt 2 piste to reach the Maitaz piste. Stop at the Derby chairlift which will take you to the Col du Grand Renard. And there you are, on the Renard piste followed by the second part of the Maitaz piste.

Take the opportunity to get your fill of typical Savoyard scenery with its utterly charming timber and stone chalets.

On getting back to Arc 1800, if you’re not yet tempted by a hot chocolate, make for the Swimming Pool and its wellness centre. You will be able to enjoy its fun pool and relax in one of the saunas or the hammam.
