Located between France and Italy, the Chapieux Valley is a regular crossroads between Tarentaise, Beaufortain and the Mont Blanc massif.
It is one of the highest places where pastoral life exists on the route of the famous Tour du Mont Blanc.
With its numerous avalanche corridors, the Glaciers Valley is inaccessible in winter. Rich in history, it is repopulated in spring by the herds of goats and Tarine cows typical of Savoyard Alpine meadows.
Numerous hiking routes enable hikers to discover fine panoramic views over the Aiguille des Glaciers, the Mont Blanc Massif, the Tarentaise Valley and the Vanoise Massif.
Amongst the many paths to be explored is that of the Robert Blanc refuge, a walk in a splendid setting at the foot of the Aiguille des Glaciers.
To safeguard this protected site, vehicle access is prohibited (between Les Chapieux and la Ville des Glaciers).
